Does it work with my car?
Very likely, if your car is from 2008 or newer, and most from 1996 on. Older Fords, GMs and Chryslers often aren't: check yours in a few seconds.

What about my phone?
iPhone and iPad
iOS 15 or newer. iPhones only talk to Bluetooth LE adapters, which is why ours is one.
Android
Android 5.0 or newer, with Bluetooth LE (almost every phone from 2015 on).
Athena OBD needs an adapter in the car's diagnostic socket, and the Athena OBD adapter is the one we test and support. Already have a Bluetooth LE ELM327 adapter? It may work, but we can't promise it: cheap copies often answer wrongly or not at all. Older "classic" Bluetooth adapters (the ones you pair in your phone's settings) and Wi-Fi adapters aren't supported.
Drive a BMW?
Athena OBD reads the engine codes every car shares. Our sister app, AutoLingo for BMW, goes much further on a BMW: the airbags, ABS, instrument cluster and body modules too, plus service resets, even on older E-chassis cars.
